"Belted Galloways, Afternoon Light" 6"x8" oil on linen © 2010 Brian Kliewer

Brian,

The painting arrived yesterday, on schedule, in the snow storm.  We are very pleased with it.  It is even better in person than the picture.  We will frame and display it properly soon and enjoy looking at these delightful animals indoors as well as in our fields!

- Lynn and Allen, Jeffersonton, VA

"An Apple A Day" 4" x 4" oil on linen © 2009 Brian Kliewer

We purchased four paintings during the 100 Paintings blitz, including the vibrant An Apple a Day. The first one we bought was Cloud Shadows – a standout gem which brings us much pleasure as it hangs in a trio of works in our library where we relax in the evening. Schoodic Point sits on a bookshelf in my office. Tied Up, Carver’s Harbor is evocative of all that we love about the Maine coast.

We love art. We love Maine. We love these four additions to our collection.

"Old Mitt and Memories" 4" x 5" oil on canvas © 2009 Brian Kliewer

I love baseball and have long been a fan of the Pirates.  When I saw this painting it simply tugged at something in me and I had to have it.  I gave it to my brother in law for his birthday and he loves it as well!  I am visiting in Chicago right now, and the baseball and mitt painting is directly in my line of sight.  It is lovelier in person than I would have thought!

"Rough-legged Hawk and Clouds" 4" x 4" oil on linen © 2009 Brian Kliewer

Brian,

Less than an hour ago, I was walking home, heading west, and there was this great view up the hill of setting sunlight illuminating the undersides of large clouds.  When I got to my house, I stood there looking at them, and all of a sudden this seagull appears, flying west to east, and the sunlight was illuminating the underside of his wings and belly as he flew upward.  And, of course, I thought of your "Rough-legged Hawk and Clouds."  The blues are spectacular!  I mean, in person, the glow of the clouds is more forceful, and dark colors are moodier, but the sky also pops.  It's beautiful.  Can we call you a "lighting" painter as well as a "landscape" painter?

"A Warm Day in May" 4" x 4" oil on linen © 2009 Brian Kliewer

Hi Brian,

I received "A Warm Day in May" today. Very exciting! It arrived perfectly. I love it. Your talent is so amazing . . . such a small canvas, yet so much detail.

"Old Haunt" 5" x 4" oil on canvas © 2009 Brian Kliewer

Brian,

I just went to a shop to look into having the three paintings I purchased framed. I spent about an hour with the framer and came up with a very nice solution for three somewhat different paintings that will be displayed together. The feedback at the frame shop was very positive with a number of people commenting on the "wonderful little paintings."

On a side note, I really enjoyed following the series and feel really lucky because the painting which first attracted me to your artwork, if I remember correctly, was one I saw in the MBNA offices in Delaware. You did a version of that painting in this series called "Old Haunt" and I was able to purchase it. Thanks again.

"Island Spirits" 24" x 48" oil on canvas © 1995 Brian Kliewer

Brian,

I just wanted to say hi and thank you for the joy your artwork has brought my wife and I for 15+ years. I bought this painting, Island Spirits, in 1996 and this is one of our favorite pieces.
