Reevaluating

Sorry I've been away...well I'm not, really.  I need to get away from the Internet  every once in a while.  So that's what I did.

While I was away, I got thinking about how my site should be structured.  As many of you know, I only offer small paintings for sale here (or Belted Galloway Paintings).  So I don't really know why I've featured larger paintings.

I've been doing it as a way to direct people to the galleries that show them, but if a gallery is only open for four months out of the year, what sense does that make?  Much of the larger work that's here hasn't been shown publicly since last October.   So I have to reassess how I've been doing things with my website.

I'm thinking that any work, sold or not, should not be on the site for longer than six months (unless it's part of a special collection, like the Galloways).  I want to make my site more active and less static.   So that might help.

I also have plans for the blog.  A blog should be updated regularly but I also need my times away from the web.  Being a slave to the Internet was never part of the plan.  So when I am here, I need to make it more interesting, interactive, to get and give more from the time that I'm online.  I have some ideas in that area, too.

You will be hearing from me...

If Lobsters Could Sing

Uniquely Maine

I went for a walk  recently and saw these in the window of the Lucky Dog Gallery  here in Rockland...

I walked by without giving them a second thought... at first.  Then I realized what they were made of and had to go back for a closer look, and some pictures...

If lobsters could sing...well, I don't suppose it would look like this.  I don't know what it would look like actually because I've never looked closely at a lobster's mouth....but I've seen plenty of claws!

Anyway... these claw ladies were created by artist, Carol Samuels, of Friendship, Maine.  The figure skater has nice legs, don't you think?

For more information you can contact the gallery at:

Lucky Dog Gallery, 373 Main St, Rockland, Maine, Phone (207) 596-0120
